Solo Trekking in Nepal

"I can’t go on a trek, I have no-one to go with?

Travelling alone doesn't have to be daunting, especially if you’re on an EverTrek adventure!  With group travel becoming more popular than ever, we’ve got families, couples, friends and lot’s of solo trekkers like yourself all mixed in to each awesome group!. It’s a great way to meet new friends and immerse yourself and enjoy the destination, plus with EverTrek you’ll never have to eat alone, use your selfie stick or worry about being lonely!  Our groups are sociable, friendly and welcoming. A global survey in 2019 revealed 76% of people indicated that they have either traveled alone already or are considering it – regardless of age, gender and nationality; solo travel is on the rise!*

A little preparation can help you feel more secure about travelling alone. We’ve put together answers to some of the most commonly asked questions, to help you feel more secure about travelling as a solo traveller.

Frequently asked questions...

Do I have to pay more?

No. We don’t charge a compulsory single supplement if you’re happy to share with someone else. The majority of rooms are twin sharing and we would only ever pair you up with someone of the same sex, and if possible of similar age.  We’ve had loads of feedback from past solo travellers to say they’ve made friends for life on a trek so why not take the plunge and choose to share?

What if I want my own space?

That’s absolutely fine. If you really don’t want to share, we offer the option to pay extra so you can have your own room or tent. However, sometimes this may not be possible if we are staying either with locals or in mountain huts or lodges. On these occasions there may not be the option, but this just adds additional flavour to the holiday.

Will there be other solo travellers in my group?

Probably. As we have such a high ratio of solo travelers there is a good chance that if you are in a group, over 50% of that group will be independent too. If you need a little more reassurance we can normally give you an idea of the demographic of your particular group when you book.

Are there men or women in my group?

Generally on our tours the split is 46% female 54% male, however female travellers are on the rise and on some holidays there will be more women than men. Again we can give you a bit more info on the exact split of your group at the time of booking. Will I be travelling with people my own age?

The age of our travellers varies greatly. However, we can say with certainty that you’ll be sharing the adventure with truly like-minded travellers.  We have a wide age range on our treks from 20 somethings eager for adventure right up to intrepid travellers in their 70’s!  You’re never too young or too old to be an EverTrekker!

Is it dangerous?

Your security is our No.1 priority. We know the countries we visit backwards and our local guides are excellent. They will meet you from the airport and look after you throughout the entire holiday. Group travel is great for added security.

Do I have to worry about travelling around a foreign country?

No - we arrange everything for you. All of our treks include all land transport and internal flights. You just need to get yourself to the airport and let us take care of the rest.

Do I have to eat on my own?

Most of our meals are included and you generally find that the group all sit together for breakfast and dinner. It’s normally a sociable affair and an opportunity to chat to your fellow travellers. Occasionally on a free day, you may decide to explore on your own, where you can relish in a little bit of time to yourself.

Will I be lonely?

That depends on you! Adventure travellers are interesting, like minded people. Many have travelled the planet and have some great stories to tell about the awesome destinations they have visited. Share yours and you’ll have friends for life.
